  • The base frame was made of 2x4 and 2x2 with hinges and eye screws for the joints

  • Foam and elastic was used around the joints to realistically depict body movement

  • Upholstery foam and high density foam was carved and secured around the frame

  • ​Hands, feet, and the head were purchased and modified

  • ​Aircraft cable ran through the frame was connected to a JAG Rescue System for the raising and lowering of the puppet

Skeleton Puppet

  • The initial design for the puppet was to have a base plastic skeleton underneath a silicone skin

  • The head was carved and prepared with blue foam and FoamCoat for molding

  • A brush on mold was made with Mold Star 30

  • During material research there wasn't an indication against a brush on mold with Mold Star 30, it was after purchasing it was discovered, but attempted anyway due to time and budget

  • The final mold couldn't hold it's shape and was prone to tearing

  • The carved head was salvaged and repurposed to become the new head

  • After cutting off the jaw, it was attached with small springs

  • The head was painted then attached with a fabric base

  • Several design sketches were put forth by each student and selected

  • The head was carved from upholstery foam blocks and cut to add a cardboard mouth plate

  • A felt pattern was draped to the shape of the head then transferred to the fur

  • Ping Pong balls were sewn to the head and a tongue was glued in

  • After success with a mock up body the fur was the sewn into the neck combining the two

  • Three puppeteers were used to operate the head and all four hands
