  • A mold of friend chicken was made with Smooth On Dragon Skin

  • Fried chicken was cast from the mold with Smooth On Smooth-Cast

  • White floral foam was laminated together  then carved to shape

  • Exterior was treated with FoamCoat and sanded smooth

  • After shaping, the foam was cut into different sections

  • Magnets were embedded in the foam and painted with an airbrush to disguise them

  • The outline of the sign from the tv-show Designing Women was projected onto MDF and sketched

  • The base and curves were jig sawed

  • The columns were cut on the table saw and scroll saw

  • A stock finial knob was cut in half for the top

Bone Leg Lamp

The Addams Family

Pacific Conservatory Theatre (2019)

Scenic Designer: Jason Bolen

Prop Master: Tim Hogan

  • The bones and lamp shade were pulled from stock

  • A MDF base was jig sawed then attached to a lamp pipe

  • Holes were drilled into the bones to mount the bones with zip-ties

  • The lampshade lace and tassel fringe were hot glued in

  • The lamp was given to Lighting for wiring

Dead Vulture

FLEX

Prop Master: Heather Lindert

  • A vulture decoy was bought to be altered

  • The head, legs, and half of the wings were cut off

  • The hollow body was filled with sand and foam to dull sound when dropped

  • Rope was used to reattach the head and legs to give a limp appearance

  • Knife hinges were used on the wings to give a limp appearance

  • Any gap was covered with feathers

Turkey Feet

A Christmas Carol

Prop Master: Heather Lindert

  • Dowels and wire were fabricated to give a general shape and base

  • Epoxy putty was molded and shaped to be left to cure

  • To give the flakey look of turkey skin the feet were wrapped in scotch tape

  • The feet were painted with a base of yellow and multiple shades of brown sponging

  • Finished with a light dusting of Glossy Wood Tone
